Default How about...

Two alliances that are considered to be continually at war with each other, but no player gets taken below 5 cities - can still be attacked but no city taken.
Advantages
  • Game is more interesting from week 1, not just saving up for a big finish.
  • Players will have to develop different tactics to the usual game
  • Something different!
Disadvantages
  • Will be hard to become a strong player or win the overall game
  • Other players, outside of the two alliances might interfere
  • Will take a bit of setting up

Discuss....

It could be interesting, but also raises some questions.
  • Is a player in the opposing alliance off limits until they reach the 5 city minimum?
  • By what criteria are alliances to be considered continually at war?
  • Non allied players or players from uninvolved alliances would have potentially easy pickings since players involved might be perpetually weakened.
  • Would there be a point near the end of the game when the 5 city limitation would be lifted and a player could be 1 citied?

No
No whining when they attack each other
Aye, There's the rub! Hoping for some "agreement" for this not to happen.
Not thought that far ahead, but instinct says no. I want everyone to be able to participate and also i don't want a debate about what constitutes "endgame"
